The Thanksgiving Note Project is over for another year, but with the project comes a whole lot of good vibes, so here's what some of your fellow deviants were thankful for.

Anonymously and in no particular order...

I'm thankful for my friends, for all of whom I would sacrifice anything. They're always there for me, and they keep me going through the worst of times and they make the best of times better.
I'm thankful for my body. I was lucky enough to be born with everything where it should be, and with the right number of everything. =P
I'm thankful for my sport; it keeps me out and exercising and has brought me a few good friends.
I'm thankful for deviantART. Honestly, without this place I would never have given artistic hobbies a second thought. Now I have experience in a few creative fields and they serve as amazing outlets for my emotions and stress.
I'm thankful for my family. My parents and I have our disagreements and our quarrels, but all in all I need them in the long run, and they're there for me and they support me in many ways, and I do love them very much.
I'm thankful for my grandparents as well, to get a bit specific. I'm more fortunate than some to still have mine in good health, and they're the best grandparents anyone could ever ask for. :)
I'm thankful for music. Without music my life would honestly be pretty dull a good amount of the time, and it does wonders for my focus. I can concentrate on one thing for hours on end if I have good music playing.
And finally, but of no lesser importance than the aforementioned, I'm thankful for... my friends once more. =P I love you all very much.

I'm thankful for...well, God knows more things than I could really begin to think of. The opportunities, the failures (if only for the sake of being tossed into experiences I would never step into otherwise), expression, taking a deep breath at the beginning of the morning and knowing that the world is yours and will be what you make of it, morals, staying up too late laughing with good friends (even when you know you shouldn't), having conversations about reality (truths and untruths) with a beautiful mind, the ability to live life as loud as we can. Love. So incredibly thankful for love and those with the will to spread it.

--

The things I am thankful are my friends, my mom, sister, (sometimes) the computer, music.

--

I'm thankful for my brothers, even though they are annoying, they've always been beside me. Like best friends. They're family, and would always be treated like that. I will help them through thick and thin, through rough and soft.

I'm also thankful for not having a father. I know, this is kind of weird, but my mother is doing a great job. I never got abused, and I'm doing very good in school.

I'm thankful for my friends, because I at least have someone to talk to when I'm bored. You know when you're bored, and if no-one's your friend?

I'm also thankful for my personality. I was born with a respectful personality that people view as a great trait of me. That's how I've made my friends.

I just moved from California to New York, a huge move, and left all of my friends (doesn't mean I still talk to them) back in California, and came here to New York to live with my grandmother, since I don't have any other relatives in any other states in the U.S.A...

I'm also thankful for all the techno-logic advancements of the future. Though, I'm not going to take advantage of this, it sure will help me in my job I'm going for.
I'm going for an Engineering, Programming, or Robotic engineer. I'm interested in these topics. It's what I have a huge interest in.

Last, but not least, I'm thankful for my cat. We actually took her 10 pound butt all the way across the country for company. She's a black calico, with the cutest face.

im thankful for
my home
family and friends
my health
and the fact that i have found such a great art community where i feel welcomed and loved

--

I'm thankful for my music, my mother, my writing, and my boyfriend (who occasionally serves as the first eyes to anything I write). They support me and keep me breathin'.

Music has always been my truest love, for me it's difficult imagining a life without it. In the hardest times what kept me going was my iPod, and band class every day. When I thought I lost the music I was close to ending my life but I stayed in hopes it would come back...and it did. This past marching(Football) season was difficult on me, I was switched off my instrument and into the flags, and combining me losing my love and events that occurred this summer I was rather...fragile you could say. I was wondering if really it was worth living if the music was truly gone, or if it was dormant, and I feel lucky, as it was dormant rather than destroyed. Music truly is life to me, I can't live without it.

And though my mother will probably never see this I'd like it to be known that she is amazing and I love her very very much. :)

--

I am thankful for most things in my life, especially the things I always take for granted. I'm even thankful for some of the bad things, because if not for them I wouldn't appreciate the good things. Even though some things in my life are so incredibly fucked up and don't deserve thanks, there's so much I take for granted.

--

Hmmm. Im thankful for books, for allowing me to escape to a completely different world for a little bit to see the life of the characters in my hands. *huddles up in a blanket on the couch with a book*

--

I am thankful for my parents, both of them.  My mother treats me like an adult and has done so ever since I was in elementary school.  Thanks to her, I became an independent thinker with my own style before the extreme peer pressure could settle in.  My father gives me so much and provides me with so many things that I probably don't even need!  I should be spoiled, but instead I feel guilty.   I realize how lucky I am, especially in this economy, to live close to campus even though my dad only lives 15 minutes away.  I'm going to London for an entire semester starting January, and that is all because of my dad.  Do I deserve half of this?  Most likely not, but I am thankful for it every day.

There is someone I know who hates her parents, despite getting everything she wants.  She hates them yet she has no qualms about using their money.  A parent who gives to their child without expecting very much in return deserves a thank you every hour of every day.  Hating someone who does so much for you and who's only crime is worrying about you is a crime I am not willing to commit.

Thank you, mom and dad.  Thank you so very, very much.

--

I'm thankful for life, family, friends, and, maybe most of all, enemies (because they give me direction in life =p)

--

I am thankful that my 3 children are healthy, happy and have so many interesting things to experience in the years to come!
I'm thankful that our economies are recovering so that I don't have to worry about my husband losing his job.
I'm thankful that there are wonderful people out there in the world who come together on dA to make it such a wonderful place to gather!

:)

--

I'm thankful that I and my family can live without fear.

--

I'm thankful for a lot of things but most important one would be getting a third chance to get my life back on track.

--

I am EXTREMELY thankful for my family and their patience and love. I know I've been an absolute pain to them (specifically my mommy) for a few months, but they haven't thrown me out on the street just yet. :XD: (And yes, I will try to act better... ;P)

--

I am thankful for my family and friends. Without them I would have made a lot of ill decisions this past year and probably wouldn't be alive to write this. I'm thankful for deviantArt for allowing me to express myself as well as connect with wonderful people and escape some of the stresses of my reality. I'm thankful for TWLOHA and the message of hope they've given to myself and others. I'm thankful for music and the joy it brings. I'm thankful for the miracles of medicine. I'm very thankful to have gotten a job during these difficult times. I'm thankful to have a chance at obtaining a higher education. I'm thankful to have experienced the power of love this past year. I am thankful to be alive.

I am thankful for...

My ability to daydream and my absolutely wild imagination, which allows me some time to myself in class.

The number of stray dogs and cats I know, who never fail to cheer me up and dirty my clothes just before I go for class.

my brother, who covers for me when I'm in trouble, and takes some of the flak himself, then makes me his slave for the rest of the month.

my mom, who'll scold me all day and still cuddle and kiss me when she thinks I'm asleep.

my dad, for randomly buying me stuff, without me even having to ask, and for all his yelling and scolding which gives me migraines, but makes me do my work on time.

my Grandmother, who always has excellent advice on hand, even if it comes with a scolding every now and then.

my professors, who are always willing to read and critique my stuff, and then insist we go out for lunch so we have time to share gossip.

My friends from around the globe, whom I know I can run to for help no matter what time it is, because hey, it has to be daylight somewhere, right?

On a more serious note, I am extremely thankful to be born where I am, to the people I've been born to, and to everything else I've been showered with in my life. I don't have an amazing lot, but whatever I have is a lot more than a lot of people have.

And I'm thankful to YOU, for helping me realise that!
Thank you!

I'm so thankful for Bettsie Sue and Dr. Seuss! :la:

I am thankful for... the opportunity to make other people smile. =D

Happy thanksgiving!

Although I don't celebrate it, I'm thankful for my grandparents and parents, who've supported me through my 22 years,
my brother, for still being alive today and for being my anchor to sanity,
my lil brother, for continuously teaching me patience,
extended family all around for just being there,
my friends, for excepting me even though they had a choice(=p),
my fortune, for being gracious to me all this while;
everyone who's supported my hopes and dreams both on and offline,
and for people like you, who've continuously spread the cheer and heart so willingly and selflessly. :)

Thank you!

I am thankful for my family, my dA family, my best friends, the bully-prevention committee at my school, of which I am a part of, my health in this time of pandemic H1N1, and everyone who said to me that I can do whatever I put my mind to, cause they are very right.

--

I am thankful for...
every minute my brother is alive because the tumor in his head isn't growing any more.

--

I am thankful for my boyfriend. Even though we are separated by a great distance, he still tries his best to spend all the time he can with me and make me feel loved every single day. He can always seem to put a smile on my face, no matter what! (: I love him to bits and it's great to have someone that loves me back so much, he is the most amazing lover i have ever come across, and i count myself lucky to have such a wonderful person in my life.

--

i want to give thanks for the fact that i am alive, and that that little weedflower i saw on the sidewalk escaped the grass cutters.
in my country, grass is grown almost everywhere and is frequently trimmed. i'm just thankful that that particular dear weedflower survived the trimmings.

I am thankful for the people who truly make a positive impact on the earth; the pure people who strive for goodness. Many don't believe in these people, but I do. And I am thankful for them; for if they weren't here, the world would be an even worse place. I regret that I cannot be like them, for I am not as strong as they. I admit I have many shameful flaws I very much wish not to bear. I am thankful for their efforts and time they sacrifice just for the good of others. I am thankful for these people and can only wish some day everyone will be alike in that way. If only. But there are others who do the exact opposite. Who live to destroy all the work the good people have accomplished. But the good people are strong. I am thankful for that. I am thankful for their bravery and strength to press on despite the efforts of villains trying to bring them down with them. I am thankful for people who are not like me.

--

I am thankful for all of my wonderful friends. They are so kind and always there for me when I need them to be, whether I'm happy, or sad, or in a horribly pissed off mood. I am so glad that they are a part of my life!

--

I'm thankful for being alive because i have the chance to spend time with my family and my friends.

I'm thankful for my family, my mom, my grandma, and everyone else, even my dogs. They are the most important people in the world for me, they might not be perfect, but for me they are as perfect as it can get. I wouldn't change any of them.

I'm thankful for my friends, i love them, the ones who once were and the ones who are still with me. I have been trough many things with some of them, and we've had our problems, separations, betrayals. But i'm greatful for all of them, I've learned many things from all those experiences and that's what matters, i'm thankful we have been able to learn from our mistakes and move on, keep living.

I'm thankful for all of those little things that in the end makes us who we are, those little things that most people take for granted but that can change one's life without even knowing. I'm glad to be who i am and wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm thankful that i joined dA, because if i hadn't joined i might have taken my eyes away from art, and i would be a lot less happy than now. Also, i'm absolutely grateful to this site for allowing me to meet so many wonderful and inspiring people on daily basis, i love every single one of my dA friends and i hope they know it. It opened my world to many things, so many people from so many cultures. I think i've personally grown into a better person thanks to this, and hope i can give some of that back.

In the end that's it, i'm thankful for my life and everyone in it, just the way it is.

I am thankful for...

People I love, who love me too, and knowing they matter more than anything. Art, in all its forms. I'm thankful for trees that look like gnarled old hands reaching to the clouds. I'm thankful for books that flap open in the wind. I'm thankful for rain and tea, and for stained-glass windows and the way they make the world shine with colors. I'm thankful for fireflies, for little specks of light in the dark. I'm thankful for clouds that look like castles and for stars that light up the world. I'm thankful for oceans that never stop moving, and remind me that not everything has to die.

I'm thankful for happiness and sadness and sunsets and the moon. I'm thankful for you.

And two less than anonymous ones...

From the desk of StJoan:

This year I am thankful for:
Good friends, reminding me how to live, to love, to feel beautiful and confident.
Good mentors-- Callaway, Carter, Strait, Baldwin, Netoff have all bolstered, influenced, inspired, and motivated me intellectually.
Good doctors--Finding my mom's cancer before it spread
the Mississippi Delta-- because it's an amazing place that gave me millions of memories
The Texasdevmeet crew and their uncanny ability to make me smile. Each one of you are so very awesome in your own way and i suppose this falls under the whole friends category but still-you're a breed apart.
My apartment--oh dear god my apartment. I LOVE my apartment.
My gym--stress relief is found here so readily
My muse-- i feel so damn lucky to have it
deviantArt --for the second year in a row helping me raise over 1000$ for the Houston AIDS Foundation
All of you-- for being cool, cool cats in all things
chocolate, tea, coffee, redbull, fruit, cheese, cookies, greek yogurt, honey, beef, and all things yummy
My heart--that it is still open, warm, and happy.

From the nest of Lit-Twitter:

Imma let you finish, but my thankfulness is the most thankful thanks of all time. Of all time.

That said, Imma thankful for the internets, without which I'd be a hobo. Imma thankful for my lit peeps, without which I'd have nothing to talk about. But most of all, Imma thankful for our adversarial relationship, without which, I'd spend more time taking a piss at others.

XOXO Gossip bird

Why were those last two put with usernames?

The first one I yanked from StJoan's journal and therefore wasn't anonymous anyway, and the second one wouldn't be near as funny if you didn't know how the relationship between myself and the Lit-Twitter account works. ;P

Mine's not in here! :crying:

Don't worry, I'm not ignoring you! This is part 1 of 2, so if yours isn't in this article, it'll be in the next one!

And for those of you circling like vultures to see who gets prizes (:evileye:), that will be on the second news article as well, which should be posted within the next few days.

Cheers,
