Ahem.

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I just wanted to let you all know that there's ten days left until the end of the Creativity Contest, and I'd like to see some great entries in what time is left. I've looked over the current entries, and though there are some gems in there, I think we could get some more good stuff going, don't you think? Get to it, guys!


So, Nessa (~KiraraGrl) and I were at Best Buy yesterday and there was this awesome Bamboo tablet and a full-screen display sitting out for people to try drawing and writing with. So she and I messed with it and doodled a little, and I discovered a few things:

I have terrible handwriting
Nessa has great handrwiting
Tablets drastically speed up the working process and it's no wonder people want to have them so badly.

I sat there thinking if I could theoretically save up to buy a tablet. Now, I'm not looking for an Intuos or anything ridiculous like that. But the Bamboo tablet I was looking at was 80 bucks, which is pretty reasonable for something that nice. The only problem is my lack of income.

Unfortunately, the majority of the money from `Memnalar's commission was used on desperately needed clothing and home supplies, so this is me humbly requesting to be commissioned. I try not to buy myself things too much unless it's legitimately helping other people, which is why I tend to commission people around this site, because I know they need it. In this case though, this is entirely for me. I hope it's not asking too much, but I want to be able to do the best possible work I can for you guys, and this tablet would definitely help me to do so.


I usually charge $10 USD, which is really paying for the design more than the code, as I happen to enjoy the coding end of things (). The price will vary depending on the difficulty of the design, but I've yet to feel anything would cost more than $15, and that's at most. If you're interested, here's what I ask:

Note me, preferably with the title "Commission inquiry" or something of that sort so I know what I'm getting into. In the note, let me know what all you want the journal design to include, sidebars, headers, scrollboxes, drop menus, etc.

Once I've read the note, if I think it's something I'm capable of, then I'll let you know that I'm going to work on the design. Once I've finished the potential design, I note you with an image of the design. If you don't like it, I go back to the drawing board, free of charge. If there are small changes you want, I will do so. Once I've got a satisfactory design for you, that's when I decide the price and request payment, and then I get to coding.

Once coding's done, I'll post a journal with the design so you can see what it looks like in action and request any other small changes, and from there I e-mail you the code and we're set!

As you can see below, I have a list of what needs to be done in my journal, so that you know where I stand in the process. As of right now, I've got a little under $25 to go toward the tablet, and I'll keep people updated as I complete orders and the like.
