For some, NaPo has begun! For people like me who live in sunny PDT, we've got several hours yet. But are you guys ready for the madness?!
If not, too bad. 30 days. 30 poems. Let's do this shit.
If you guys haven't noticed, I've been absent from the internet for the past few days. That's because it's the week before spring break for us. So everything (I repeat, EVERYTHING) is due this week. And come next week, I'm not likely to be around too much, as I'm going home and sleeping the week away.

I didn't realize this until just a little while ago, but I joined =
DailyDeviants a year ago yesterday. Funny how time flies like that. I originally joined as a member of the journal team and (go figure), we're currently
looking for Journal Team members!
Ironically, the journal I posted
a year ago about it was also related to *
Writers-Workshop, which is what's next on my list of things to do.
Well, it's funny to look at what all I said last year and realize that much of what I said then is still at the "in progress" stage...

What reason(s) do you write for?
I write because a fortune teller told my mom that I was going to be a writer. True story, mind, but seriously, I write because it feels good to do so, and because I love to read.

Do you take your writing seriously?
Sometimes. It depends on what I've written. If I'm not happy with something, I have a tendency to discard it, which is a flaw of mine that I really need to work on...

If so, when did you start taking writing seriously?
Mmm, that depends. I've always taken my analytical writing seriously. However, I didn't take creative writing seriously until recently. I'd say October of last year-ish?

Where do you feel you stand as a writer?
I don't consider myself a writer. I write as a hobby, but I refuse to call myself a writer, at least for the time being. To call myself a writer implies a skill level that I don't feel I've reached yet.

What do you feel you do well?
Grammar and characterization have always been my strengths with prose. Characters come as they are for me, and though I feel big-headed for saying so, my characters are usually pretty identifiable. When it comes to poetry...I really don't know. I still feel so unfamiliar to the world of poetry, which I don't feel is a bad thing. I like that there's a lot for me to learn still. I guess if I were to force myself to pick something I think I'm good at, it would be the rhythmic aspect of my writing, but that's influenced by my musical background more than anything else.

What do you feel you struggle with?
With prose, my biggest issue is coming up with an idea that I really want to run with. I get plenty of story ideas on a regular basis, but most of them I just don't want to write, because I don't think I'll be happy with how they feel should I sit and write them. For poetry, I struggle remaining concrete. I slip into abstractions often enough that it becomes troublesome if I don't notice it.

What do you most want to improve on?
Rigged question much?

(I was totally the one who made up these questions, too. How lame. I apologize to everyone for this.) I want to improve on anything and everything I can.

Do you have any questions to ask your readers?
Am I on the right track? I'm not very good at judging where I stand, honestly, so clarification helps me big time.
Do my works make sense for the most part? It seems I'm not very good about being clear at times, so if my writing is vague or unclear, I need to know that.
Nothing else is coming to mind, least not right now, so I guess that's it for the time being. I hope you're all well!

Nah, I say that for my own sake, not out of denial or anything. The more I do so, the more I want to learn and improve, so that I can get to a point where I feel comfortable with calling myself a writer.
